My professional journey in education has been a unique blend of developing my own educational qualifications while honing my teaching skills through various part-time roles.
A Diverse Teaching Background
I began my career teaching ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) and EAL (English as an Additional Language) in schools and colleges. Over time, I expanded my expertise to teaching English for Academic Purposes (EAP) in higher education. This progression has provided me with a rich understanding of the diverse needs of students from different backgrounds and educational experiences.

As a Postgraduate Teaching Assistant, I have had the privilege of forging meaningful relationships with Master's students and developing amazing connections with fellow PhD students across the wider university. My work with the PAFs (Postgraduate Researchers and Families) group, which supports student parents, has been particularly rewarding. This group has grown into a thriving community, providing essential support and fostering a sense of belonging for postgraduate researchers with families.

My research explores the unique challenges and opportunities within this field, aiming to improve the experiences of distance learners. Additionally, I am working on several small projects for publication on PGR student parent and PTA experiences, and have presented my findings at academic conferences.
